CALSTAR announces completion of the BO-105LS Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) effort to re-engine the aircraft with a R-R Model 250-C30 engine.

All documentation has been successfully compiled and submitted to the FAA Los Angeles Office on February 20th, 2008 for FAA approval of the Supplemental Type Certificate.

Demonstrated benefits experienced through flight testing have been increased performance, reduction of pilot work load, and improved fuel efficiencies. CALSTAR currently has over 150 hours of flight time accumulated on the modified aircraft and are quite impressed by the improved performance.

This increased performance will allow CALSTAR to better serve the higher altitude mission customers of the Sierra Nevada region without having to operate on the edge of the performance envelope.

CALSTAR plans to offer the aircraft STC conversion kit for sale to other BO-105LS operators world-wide through partnering with Aerometals as their route to market. Please visit Aerometals at HAI Stand # 4113 to obtain an STC brochure or for more detailed information.
