Hélicoptères Guimbal and Safran Helicopter Engines have recorded the highest scores in the 2022 edition of Vertical Magazine’s annual Helicopter and Engine Manufacturers Survey, as voted by members of the global helicopter community.
Nearly 1,700 helicopter industry professionals completed the survey, which is considered the industry’s leading measure of OEM performance in customer support.
Following the unprecedented challenges of 2020, last year saw a general rebound in demand across the industry. While this was undoubtedly a positive development, it exacerbated shortages in parts and materials that have challenged OEMs.
Given this environment, many OEMs saw their survey scores decline from the previous year’s edition. But there were some standout performers.
Guimbal topped the rankings among helicopter manufacturers for the second consecutive year, while Bell edged out Robinson to reclaim the top spot among OEMs with more than one aircraft model in their portfolio.
Safran and Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC) both scored highly in the overall rankings among engine manufacturers, with Safran securing the top spot held by P&WC last year.
“This is now the eight year we’ve held our survey, and we continue to be delighted by the response from the industry,” said Vertical Magazine publisher Mike Reyno. “The detailed feedback we receive from professionals within the industry helps guide OEM policies and often results in meaningful changes.
