Job Description

The Director of Quality Assurance has overall responsibility for the Quality Assurance Program through quality, vision and leadership.

This position develops objectives and drives quality processes throughout the company. This includes ensuring company-wide adherence to the Quality Program Manual that complies with Canadian Aviation Regulations and ensuring that each person charged with responsibility for certifying aeronautical products holds the appropriate and valid licensing. 

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Director of Maintenance, Director of Operations, and various department managers to continually improve the quality system. As directed by the Director of Maintenance, you will serve as the primary liaison with Transport Canada for the Aircraft Maintenance Organization (AMO), Fleet Maintenance, and Flight Operations.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 

  • Attention to detail is a critical skill 
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking and deductive reasoning skills to interpret information, and identify specific areas that require further investigation, action etc. 
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Assertiveness and ability to coordinate activities with others, obtain your cooperation and support 
  • Knowledge of user and/or customer experience 
  • Experience reviewing Helicopter operations and Canadian Air Regulations  
  • Excellent organization and coordination skills to follow through on specific file matters, ensure timeliness, comprehensiveness and accuracy of report contents
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to deal effectively with aviation professionals and to obtain or clarify information
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) 
  • Clean record and compliance with the Aeronautic Act
  • Provide an acceptable driver’s abstract

REQUIRED EDUCATION: 

  • Relevant education or trade such as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer certification and/or combination of education and related experience. 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Previous work experience in the field of aviation and quality assurance
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, whether gained through supervisory or managerial roles, or through other relevant experiences such as team projects, community involvement, or organizational leadership
  • Experience writing reports and interpreting standards
  • Experience in a QA/SMS role within the aviation industry is considered an asset.
