Helifab, in conjunction with Worldwide Helicopter Solutions LLC, has obtained Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) supplemental type certificate (STC) approval of radar altimeter antenna mount provisions on Bell 206B, 206L, L-1, L-3, L-4, and 407 aircraft. The STC allows radar altimeter antennas (Bendix King KA-54A, Sensor Systems S67-2002, or equivalent) to be mounted to either the tail boom or the aft lower fairing below the baggage compartment.

“Our new STC will help not only our current customers but the entire rotorcraft community meet the FAA mandated Part 135 requirement for radar altimeter use,” said David Guidry, general manager of Helifab. “We look forward to being a part of improving the safety of the rotorcraft community.”
