P.H.I. Air Europe Ltd is a Joint venture partnership with P.H.I. Helicopters Inc. who has chosen Cyprus as their eastern Mediterranean and southern Europe headquarters. PHI Inc. is one of the largest operators in the world in the field of helicopter support services to the offshore oil and gas, government, international air medical and technical services industries with its headquarters in the U.S., and bases globally, P.H.I. Air Europe’s Helicopters will serve the Cyprus Exclusive Economic Zone and the Eastern Mediterranean.
The agreement provides the use of Cyprus Airways Engineering and Maintenance facilities and services and it will be extended in the future to cover other sectors like staff training, provision of continuous airworthiness management, and cargo services.
In a statement, the chief executive officer of Cyprus Airways, Aaron Karaoghlanian, stated that this strategic agreement opens a new chapter in the services offered by Cyprus Airways to the natural gas industry in the Cyprus Exclusive Economic Zone. Cyprus Airways Engineering and Maintenance Department, offers well equipped facilities with specialized staff. Furthermore, Karaoghlanian stated that this cooperation demonstrates the trust that P.H.I. Air Europe Ltd exhibits towards Cyprus Airways and its Engineering and Maintenance Department .
Mike Foley director/accountable manager of P.H.I Air Europe Ltd stated that “P.H.I Air Europe is delighted to be working together with Cyprus Airways we have been very impressed with the technical expertise and level of facilities offered by them. This agreement,” he continued, “will strengthen and enhance both our operational capability and presence in Cyprus and the Eastern Mediterranean in delivering an outstanding service to the Natural Gas and Oil Industry in region with Helicopter support services.”
