Essex Industries announces new VP/GM Essex Milford

Essex Industries is pleased to announce that Garrett Ferris has joined the company as vice president/general manager at the Essex Milford location in Connecticut.

Ferris comes to Essex from Saint-Gobain where he held site management roles, most recently as plant manager. Before that, he held engineering roles with Sikorsky. Garrett graduated from Penn State with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and brings a diverse skill base that includes lean manufacturing, supply chain management, quality management, regulatory compliance, and P&L. Garrett and his wife have two boys and live in Trumbull, CT.

“Garrett’s years of experience in the aerospace industry, coupled with his knowledge of ERP Management, supply chain logistics, and process improvement, will certainly bring added value and expertise to the team.” Says Mathew “MJ” Johnston, who will transition back to St. Louis and return to his role as vice president of Business Development. Essex is thankful to MJ for leadership at Essex Milford for the past year and a half.

Essex celebrates 75 years as an aerospace and defense manufacturer, providing platform controls, aircraft components, emergency breathing, and liquid oxygen equipment. Essex employs 400 people in six facilities in St. Louis, MO, Huntington Beach, CA, and Milford, CT.
