The Chinese eVTOL developer EHang has announced a partnership with Globalvia, a worldwide manager of transportation infrastructure. The deal will see the companies collaborate to implement EHang’s autonomous aerial vehicles for passenger transportation and aerial logistics in the Iberian Peninsula and Latin America, according to a press release.
Globalvia’s infrastructure concession network was established in 2007 and currently encompasses 27 highway and railway projects in seven countries: Spain, the United States, Ireland, Portugal, Mexico, Costa Rica, and Chile. Globalvia will cooperate with EHang to advance flights tests and demonstrations, training and maintenance, certification, and business development using Openvia, Globalvia’s mobility solutions platform.
“The partnership with EHang constitutes a significant step forward and a clear commitment by Globalvia to anticipate and lead urban air mobility projects contributing to innovation, sustainability, and quality of life improvement for citizens,” stated Fernando Vallejo, head of Innovation and Systems at Globalvia.
This partnership adds to EHang’s growing portfolio of global partnerships for its urban air mobility technology. Earlier this year, the company announced several new initiatives in Europe, including an infrastructure partnership with Aeroports de Catalunya.

In addition to its flagship EH216 multicopter, EHang is developing a two-passenger winged eVTOL called the VT-30 for intercity operations. EHang has started the process of pursuing type certification for its EH216 in China, but the aircraft’s certification prospects in other parts of the world are less clear.
