Job Description

The inventory control manager is responsible for ensuring that the companyrsquo;s materials and products meet all their specifications. They locate key suppliers and negotiate purchasing agreements with them on behalf of the company to get higher quality goods at the lowest prices possible. In addition, they oversee the ordering, storing, receiving, and distributing process of products and supplies. They control the flow of supplies and equipment, track and analyze inventory, and develop protocols for loss mitigation. Duties and assignments may overlap depending on the operational needs of the department.

Responsibilities

Prepare proposals, request quotes, and negotiate purchase terms and conditions
Prepare and issue purchase orders and agreements
Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues and concerns
Inspect and evaluate the quality of purchased items and resolve shortcomings
Analyze industry and demand trends and support senior management with the development and implementation of sourcing strategies
Designing and implementing an inventory tracking system for optimized inventory control procedures
Examine the levels of raw materials and supplies to determine shortages
Document daily shipments and deliveries to replenish inventory
Create detailed reports for adjustments, inventory operations, and stock levels
Evaluating new inventory, ensuring itrsquo;s ready to ship
Properly order new supplies avoiding excessive surplus or inefficiencies
Responsible for leading direct reports including but not limited to performance evaluations, training, and as necessary, hiring
Other duties as assigned.
