Mid-Continent Instruments and Avionics expands Wichita HQ

Mid-Continent Instruments and Avionics, a technology company that designs and manufactures aerospace products, has announced a 28,000 square-foot addition to its Wichita, Kansas headquarters.

The expansion is part of the company’s long-term, strategic plan to support immediate and future growth, accommodating increased customer demand, worldwide.

“This project is an example of our ongoing commitment to innovation,” said Todd Winter, president and CEO of Mid-Continent Instruments and Avionics. “We invest heavily in research and development to propel our industry forward. Expanding our company allows us to grow our manufacturing facilities, in-house design, testing capabilities, and engineering department. This will attract new talent and add well-paying aviation jobs in the Air Capital.”

Founded in 1964, Mid-Continent Instruments and Avionics employs more than 200 employees in two locations: Wichita, Kansas and Chatsworth, California. Customers are supported by a global Distribution Network.

Mid-Continent and its True Blue Power division deliver certified instruments, avionics, electrical power systems, and lithium-ion batteries, plus they operate one of the largest overhaul, exchange, and repair programs in the world.

The company serves general, business, commercial aviation, defense, special missions, advanced air mobility, and more electric aircraft.

Mid-Continent’s Wichita headquarters is located at 9400 E 34th Street North. The company has selected Kansas-based design firm Alloy Architecture for this project and said it will break ground in fall 2023.
