ICARUS Devices is proud to announce that pilots on all seven continents are now training with the ICARUS Smart View Limiting Device.

The milestone comes just three years after the device went on sale and as the company looks to provide ICARUS training to more international pilots. Five hundred ICARUS devices are flying across the world for initial and recurrent training in aircraft, including the CH-47 Chinook.

The company recently delivered an ICARUS Device to Helicopter Resources, which provides helicopter services to government organizations in Antarctica. During the summer months, about 5,000 people reside at over 70 permanent and seasonal research stations. Antarctica is 40 percent larger than Europe and helicopters are crucial to keeping everyone provisioned and safe in a place without any paved roads.

ICARUS is a smart view limiting device that allows instructor pilots to simulate degraded visual environments (DVEs) or poor visibility in the aircraft for dynamic scenario-based training. ICARUS changes visibility and allows instructor pilots to dial in the visibility for dynamic scenario-based training.

Bringing together the controllability of a simulator with the real sensation of flight allows ICARUS to give pilots the best training possible for VFR into IMC, IFR, and weather decision making.

ICARUS has also seen widespread adoption in other inclement climates like Alaska and Canada.

This press release was prepared and distributed by ICARUS.
