“I am proud and humbled that Boston MedFlight is among this year’s honorees,” said Maura Hughes, CEO of Boston MedFlight. “It’s a real testament to the strength and devotion of the incredible team who live our nonprofit, lifesaving mission every day.”

Boston MedFlight is the region’s primary provider of critical care transport to the most critically ill and injured infants, children and adults. It has provided critical care transport to more than 93,000 patients since its inception in 1985. And in line with its nonprofit mission, they have cared for those patients without regard for their insurance status or ability to pay. The nonprofit provides approximately $7 million annually in free and unreimbursed care to patients in need with little or no insurance.

Since 2000, The Women’s Edge (formerly The Commonwealth Institute) has supported systemic, sustained progress for women in leadership roles throughout the business community.
