In this video from the Vuichard Recovery Aviation Safety Foundation, president Claude Vuichard demonstrates an approach to the 11,000-foot Glacier du Trient in Switzerland in a Mountain Flyers Bell 505. Claude notes that it’s especially important to maintain sufficient terrain clearance when flying from sun to shade and vice versa, as small changes in elevation can easily be overlooked in shadowed areas.
