Vertical MRO, the brand dedicated to advancing the rotorcraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) industry through in-person events — powered by Vertical — is pleased to announce it has so far signed agreements with a total of six sponsors for its Vertical MRO (VMRO) Conference, coming to both Canada and the U.S. this fall.
The inaugural VMRO Conference is set to take place in Kelowna, British Columbia, at the KF Centre for Excellence from Oct. 7 to 9. While a second conference will be held shortly thereafter at the Irving Convention Center in Texas from Nov. 10 to 12. Both events will bring together maintenance technicians and engineers, managers, supply chain personnel, safety inspectors, manufacturers, regulators, and students to explore the latest advancements, challenges, and opportunities in the rotorcraft MRO sector.
While the industry was lacking an event dedicated exclusively to rotorcraft maintenance, Vertical MRO aims to fill that gap with its upcoming conferences — giving maintainers a way to collaborate and learn best practices in an interactive setting.
“We created the Vertical MRO Conference to ensure the backbone of our industry continues to succeed and remain at the forefront, but we are relying on the industry to help us,” said Linda Reyno, co-owner of MHM Publishing and Vertical MRO. “Doing a conference like this is so important for the future of rotorcraft MRO, but it’s neither easy nor inexpensive. We’re looking for support from the industry to help us offer the best training and resources to a sector that has been overlooked for many years.”
Vertical MRO would like to thank the early sponsors of its Kelowna conference: Airbus (Titanium Sponsor); Leonardo (Titanium Sponsor); Precision Aviation Group (Nickel Sponsor); Alpine Aerotech (Cobalt Sponsor); and Eagle Copters. As well as the early sponsors of its Irving conference: Airbus (Titanium Sponsor); Leonardo (Titanium Sponsor); and Precision Aviation Group (Nickel Sponsor).
“When we heard Vertical was hosting a conference devoted to rotorcraft maintenance, we jumped at the opportunity to support,” said Jeff Denomme, president of Alpine Aerotech, which is a Cobalt Sponsor of the Kelowna conference. “It’s always an honor to work with the Vertical team and even more exciting to participate in an event we are all so passionate about. The Vertical MRO Conference will be dedicated to sharing best practices and networking, but it will also be a time to celebrate the dedication our maintainers show to the helicopter industry.”
Mehran Jafari, senior manager of CSS&T, Civil and Programs, at Leonardo Helicopters (a Titanium Sponsor of both the Kelowna and Irving conferences) added: “Safety and quality are the guiding principles of everything we do, both in our services and our products. Supporting the Vertical MRO conferences allows us to elevate the conversation on safety and quality, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration within the industry. Together, we shape a safer, more reliable future.”
As the industry rallies around this first-of-its-kind conference, there’s a call to action for companies and organizations to step up and support the cause. Sponsorship and exhibitor opportunities for the VMRO conferences in Kelowna and Irving remain available, and industry leaders are encouraged to contribute and help shape the future of rotorcraft MRO.
