Timberline Helicopters has announced that the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has approved its “Timberline Helicopters, Inc. UH-60A Black Hawk” Restricted Category Type Certificate.

“After working directly with the FAA for the past 10 months, we are very proud of our certification program and the final result,” said Travis Storro, Timberline’s Certification Manager. “Our goal was to produce an aircraft that is tailored and equipped specifically for utility missions and that meets all standard utility contract specifications on the day it is certified.”
The Black Hawk will be utilized in multi-mission roles including firefighting, transmission/utility line construction, precision lift missions, and many other heavy-lift operations throughout the United States. Timberline also has a growing list of modifications for the aircraft with multiple Supplemental Type Certificates in the works to expand the Black Hawk’s capabilities and improve its operational efficiency.

Timberline’s Black Hawk, N434TH, will be on display at the Heli-Expo 2016 in Louisville, Ky. March 1-3 in Static Display area space number 9. Visit Timberline at Heli-Expo Booth Number 12655, immediately across from the aircraft.
