Sikorsky Aircraft Corp. launched Sikorsky360TM, a fleet management program designed to increased aircraft availability and operator profitability, during a presentation at Heli-Expo today. Sikorsky Aircraft is a subsidiary of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX)

Sikorsky360 uses real-time aircraft operation, health and usage, and maintenance environment data to maximize aircraft readiness, material availability and lower direct maintenance costs.

“This is a major milestone in transforming our customer support from being reactive to predictive. It grows our aftermarket business by guaranteeing our customers’ mission readiness at predicted costs,” said David Adler, Senior Vice President, Worldwide Customer Service.

On Dec. 8, 2006, Sikorsky opened the Fleet Management Operations Center, an integral component of Sikorsky360. The Fleet Management Operations Center brings together subject matter experts from logistics, engineering and customer service to execute Sikorsky Aircraft’s Fleet Management process enabled by state of the art technology and up to the minute data. This center will serve as the cornerstone for Sikorsky’s “S-92 helicopter” fleet management program.

The S-92 was the first helicopter in the world certified to the latest Federal Aviation Administration and European Joint airworthiness safety standards. The aircraft is the winner of the Collier Trophy, and since introduction in 2004 has accumulated more than 37,000 fleet hours.

Marc Poland, Vice President of Commercial Programs added, “This milestone represents a significant contribution that enhances Sikorsky’s S-92 helicopter customer support services.”

Sikorsky Aircraft Corp., based in Stratford, Conn., USA, is a world leader in helicopter design, manufacturing, and service. United Technologies Corp., based in Hartford, Conn., USA, provides a broad range of high-technology products and support services to the aerospace and building systems.
