S.A.F.E. Structure Designs, an ergonomic safety-first aviation maintenance equipment manufacturer, announced that it has completed its contract with Next Era Energy in West Palm Beach, Florida. S.A.F.E. Structure has pioneered the way for its complete custom design, engineering and manufacturing of OSHA compliant maintenance stands and hangar equipment to outfit the first AW169 helicopter to enter the U.S.
The first set of prototype aircraft maintenance stands were delivered to Next Era in September 2018. As a team, both S.A.F.E. Structure and Next Era technicians conducted a thorough test fit inspecting all aspects of the designs to further optimize safety and ergonomic concerns. After discovering several opportunities for improvement, S.A.F.E. shipped the stands back to its facility to complete final critical enhancement modifications. This project required S.A.F.E.’s engineers to make multiple site visits and to work closely with the mechanics at Next Era to ensure that the safety and efficiency goals outlined by the technicians were met. The finalized maintenance stands were delivered this week and have provided the mechanics with safe access around the helicopter, increased ergonomic efficiency for the technicians while working on the aircraft, decrease potential for unwanted accidents and falls, and decrease damage to the helicopter’s exterior surface.
“I am thankful for all the effort and support S.A.F.E. has given to NextEra Energy’s Flight Department in creating our maintenance stands for the AW169 helicopter,” reported Larry Witte, senior manager of maintenance with Next Era. “Starting from the point of engineering to the onsite adjustments required after production the S.A.F.E. staff was very concerned that we had stands that met our expectations. Thank you again for the outstanding support and emphasis S.A.F.E. places on customer satisfaction.”
“S.A.F.E.’s commitment to provide our customers with the highest quality of ergonomic customized equipment is what drives our persistence to exceed our customers expectations. This is what makes us an industry dominator in customer service. We do whatever it takes to get the job done right and our customers know that about us,” commented Johnny Buscema, S.A.F.E. CEO.
