Skyline Helicopter Technologies and Sikorsky officials have announced the signing of an agreement authorizing Skyline, based in Lively, Ontario, as a customer support center for the S-76 helicopter, manufactured by Sikorsky, a Lockheed Martin company.
Final job creation and financial impact information isn’t available yet, but it is expected to create well-paying aerospace jobs right away with more growth expected as the support center grows.
“We are excited to begin working with the team at Sikorsky to enhance its customers’ experiences in the region and provide world class maintenance support,” said SHT president Joe Natale. “Furthermore, this is great news for the greater Sudbury area as we continue to evolve from a mining community to a hub of innovative expertise.”
As part of the agreement, Skyline will acquire additional special tooling and equipment and send maintenance personnel to training. Requirements for expansion of the hangar facilities and the addition of personnel may become necessary in the coming months — with a focus on recruiting top talent to the region.
“Sikorsky is thrilled to provide customers in the region with a support center offering personalized logistic and maintenance support,” said Joe Triompo, vice president, Sikorsky’s customer support. “As a Sikorsky-authorized customer support center, Skyline will ensure our S-76 helicopter customers will receive quick access to the most advanced service capabilities.”
The growth and success of Skyline Helicopter Technologies stems from the depth of experience of its long-term, knowledgeable team members, and strong leadership.
