Metro announced that it has officially achieved AS9100 certification, marking a significant milestone in the company’s ongoing commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement in the aviation industry.

AS9100 is the internationally recognized quality management system (QMS) standard specifically developed for the aviation, space, and defense sectors.

Built upon the foundation of ISO 9001, it includes additional requirements focused on risk management, product safety, configuration control, and supplier oversight.

As the benchmark for quality and reliability in aviation manufacturing and services, AS9100 certification demonstrates Metro’s ability to meet stringent regulatory and customer expectations.

“Achieving AS9100 certification is a reflection of the dedication and collaboration across our entire organization,” said Metro Aviation quality assurance manager Sean Armstrong.

“It positions Metro for greater opportunities within the aviation industry while reinforcing our commitment to delivering excellence and ensuring customer satisfaction.”

The certification was the result of a focused initiative involving cross-functional collaboration from the Aircraft Configuration, Purchasing, Engineering, Production, and Quality departments at Metro’s headquarters.

Metro also partnered with SimpleQuE, a consulting firm specializing in quality management systems, to support the implementation and audit readiness process.

Key efforts included aligning internal processes with AS9100 requirements, enhancing documentation, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement to maintain high-quality standards.

Metro successfully passed a third-party certification audit by PRI Certification, a program administered by Performance Review Institute, to certify its headquarters in Shreveport, LA.

“We’re proud to join the ranks of AS9100-certified aviation organizations and look forward to building stronger partnerships and delivering even greater value to our customers,” said Metro COO Kenny Morrow.

“Sean Armstrong, LauraLeigh Lawrence, and their team worked incredibly hard to get this done in a short amount of time.  We are extremely proud to have them on our team.”

This achievement reflects Metro’s investment in long-term operational excellence and positions the company for future growth and enhanced credibility in the aviation marketplace.
