As part of their ongoing commitment to safety, High Performance Helicopters renewed their agreement with Flight Safety International last month to provide all flight training through 2025. This agreement solidifies HP Helicopters’ pledge to provide their flight crews with the highest-level pilot training program available in rotorcraft today.

“The extreme nature of our aerial firefighting missions and remote operations requires safety to be paramount. We take a real-world approach to safe operations. Being able to put our pilots through simulated emergencies such as tail rotor failures and actual aircraft fires over and over keeps their muscle memory sharp in the event a real emergency was to occur. We train hard to be as prepared as possible. We are proud of our safety record and mindful that complacency can be perilous. Flight Safety’s expert level of training transfers down to our customers through competency in any situation,” said Brad Bauder, president and chief pilot of HP Helicopters.

Since 2017, HP Helicopters has utilized the exceptional training at Flight Safety to go above and beyond the FAA minimum training requirements for heavy lift operations. With this agreement, HP will be investing $30,000 per pilot for training over the next three years to maintain their clean safety history of 15 years without a mishap. All of HP’s UH-60 pilots will undergo Flight Safety’s rigorous Full Motion D Simulator training enduring actual fires in flight, system failures and other scenarios impossible to replicate in real flight.
