Heli-One welcomes first CH-146 Griffon to its Vancouver maintenance hangar

Heli-One Press Release | October 17, 2024

Estimated reading time 1 minute, 48 seconds.

Heli-One welcomed the first aircraft from the Griffon Limited Life Extension (GLLE) program to its Vancouver base maintenance hangar.

Heli-One, a global provider of rotor-wing maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services, is a supplier to Bell Textron Canada Limited (Bell). Bell was awarded the $800-million GLLE contract by the Canadian government in April 2022.

Under the agreement, Heli-One will incorporate modifications to modernize the CH-146 helicopter and extend the life of the fleet.

Earlier this year, Bell also appointed Heli-One to provide In-Service Support for CH-146 Griffon helicopters for the Canadian Department of National Defence (DND), in a contract valued at over C$150 million over five years and five optional years, commencing April 2024.

Under the agreements, Heli-One will be a subcontractor and key supplier to Bell whereby Heli-One personnel will provide first- and second-line maintenance services onsite at military bases across Canada, in Alberta, Ontario, Quebec and New Brunswick, as well as GLLE support in its Vancouver facility.

Heli-One has been providing embedded maintenance services for Bell and the DND’s fleet since 2016, and the GLLE and In-service Support agreements were an extension and expansion of services already provided.

This press release was prepared and distributed by Heli-One.
