Heli-One, an operating subsidiary of CHC Helicopter Corporation, announced today the appointment of Michael Coughlin as Vice-President, Business Units.

Michael graduated from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles in 1979. His life-long aviation career has taken him from Douglas Aircraft Company to Bombardier, AlliedSignal (now Honeywell), ACRO Aerospace and Cascade Aerospace. Throughout his career, Michael has held leadership responsibilities for commercial and military customer support, including program management, airframe heavy maintenance, engine/component repair and overhaul operations, design and repair engineering, technical publications, spares and logistics, field support, and quality.

His passion for employee satisfaction drives an open and listening management style. He has also introduced “lean” concepts in airframe maintenance and engine and component shops in order to reduce span times and encourage employee involvement in process improvement. Michael is Past-President of the Aerospace Industries Association of British Columbia and has been active in working to address the skills shortages in the industry.

Heli-One President Neil Calvert said: “Michael is very well known and very well respected in the helicopter industry and we are thrilled to have him on the team. Michael will play a critical role as we continue our current phase of rapid expansion and growth.”
