FlightSafety International announced today that it has established a Certificate Management Office and received a new Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 142 Certificate from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration.

The establishment of FlightSafety’s Certificate Management Office is the first step in transitioning FlightSafety’s pilot training programs to a single certificate.

A representative of the FAA presented the new Part 142 certificate to FlightSafety on Tuesday, November 22, 2005 during a ceremony at the company’s new Certificate Management Office located in Wilmington, Delaware.

Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 142, prescribes the rules governing the operation of training centers and the practice of instructing pilots in flight simulators.

“FlightSafety’s new Certificate Management Office will ensure that our customers continue to receive consistent, high quality training throughout our network of Learning Centers,” said Mike Lee, Vice President Compliance and Technology, FlightSafety International. “The single certificate will result in uniform interpretation and application of FAA regulations and policies as this information will come from one centralized source with the FAA.”

FlightSafety International is the world’s premier aviation training organization. Over 75,000 pilots, technicians and other aviation professionals train at FlightSafety facilities each year. The company designs and manufactures full flight simulators for civil and military aircraft programs and operates the world’s largest fleet of advanced full flight simulators at over 40 training locations.
