CHC Helicopter (CHC) —a global leader in helicopter services and maintenance, repair and overhaul provision—is launching ‘Helicopter SAR Week’ (#HeliSARWeek) on social media to recognize rotor-wing Search and Rescue (SAR) crews around the world. CHC will showcase notable rescues, equipment used in aircraft, crew members and interesting statistics throughout the week. CHC will also donate $1 USD per ‘#HeliSARWeek’ hashtag interaction (from Sept 27 – Oct 1, 2021) to four charities in the regions where SAR bases are located.
For more than five decades, CHC has provided SAR in challenging and hostile environments – from the North Sea to the Indian Ocean. CHC operates one of the world’s most extensive and technologically sophisticated SAR networks, with helicopters, crews, and support teams stationed around the world to respond at a moment’s notice with mission critical flights to safeguard the public and protect offshore workers. The goal of ‘#HeliSARWeek’ is to bring awareness to the critical and challenging world of helicopter-based SAR and to recognize the bravery of team members.
Four charities in CHC regions have been selected as donation recipients:
- Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI)
- Mountain Rescue Ireland
- Surf Life Saving Australia (Nippers Program)
- Red Cross Norway
CHC’s regional base leaders and crew selected these organizations in recognition of the critical support work they perform in their respective countries. These organizations are primarily volunteer-staffed and in collaboration with local authorities, perform search and rescue work, public safety awareness, and safety training for the general public and youth.
#HeliSARWeek week content will be posted on CHC Helicopter’s social media channels including:
