Atlantic Airways Aviation Academy is proud to announce the official certification of its state-of-the-art AW139 full-flight simulator.

With this certification, the simulator is now fully operational and ready to welcome customers for advanced training from early 2025.

The Danish Transport Authority (Trafikstyrelsen) issued the Qualification Certificate (No. DK-1110) confirming that the AW139 simulator meets the highest standards of quality and safety.

Atlantic Airways Aviation Academy has also been approved as an FSTD (Flight Simulation Training Device) operator, further solidifying its position as an upcoming leader in aviation training in the region.

“This is a significant milestone for Atlantic Airways and our Aviation Academy,” says Jóhanna á Bergi, CEO, with Hans Erik Jakobsen, Head of Training adding: “We are thrilled to finally offer our customers a cutting-edge training experience in our brand-new simulator, further enhancing their operational skills in AW139 helicopter operations.”

The brand-new Thales simulator uses the latest technology to deliver a highly realistic training environment.

It supports various Type Ratings and search-and-rescue (SAR) scenarios, including hoist operations, offshore procedures, and challenging weather conditions, ensuring pilots are thoroughly prepared for real-world challenges.

Additionally, the academy offers hoist training with a custom-made hoist trainer capable of working directly with the crew in the AW139 simulator.

Atlantic Airways Aviation Academy now invites operators, crews, and organizations from around the globe to book training slots at its facility.

The academy is committed to providing high-quality instruction supported by certified instructors and tailored training programs to meet specific operational needs.
