Alpine Aerotech has officially received a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) supplemental type certificate (STC) for the installation of Astronautics AFI 4700 RoadRunner EFIS on VFR/IFR Bell 212 and 412 rotorcraft.
The Astronautics Flight Instrument (AFI) 4700 STC has been designed for Bell 212 and 412 rotorcraft. This upgrade provides operators with a reliable, configurable, and safe replacement for aging attitude direction indicator (ADI) and horizontal situation indicator (HSI) instruments — future-proofing a fleet with features like marker beacon, radar altitude, traffic display, and upcoming GPS overlay and synthetic vision.
The RoadRunner modification was designed as a ‘drop-in’ replacement, requiring minimal wiring and structural rework.
