Following a two year trial, the favourable performance of the Dart Round-I-BeamTM Skidtube installed on an Iroquois from Base Ohakea has prompted the Royal New Zealand Air Force to recommend the skidtube for acceptance into service as the preferred skidtube.  During the trial period, the skidtube was extensively tested in multiple mission types and was found to perform positively.  The RNZAF intends to introduce the Dart Skidtube into its fleet as existing spares are consumed.   Dart’s design will provide increased protection against stress corrosion, punctures and deformities due to off-airport landings.

The Dart Skidtube for the Iroquois features a more puncture resistant Round-I-Beam construction, CNC machined split saddles for easier installation, and is LH/RH interchangeable.

As the worldwide distributor for the Round-I-BeamTM Skidtube, Dart Helicopter Services is pleased with the outcome of the trial and the acceptance of the skidtube.  Dart’s CEO Jeff Shapiro commented, “We were confident when the Royal New Zealand Air Force decided to evaluate our skid tube that they would find it to be the most durable skid tube on the market.  The innovative I-Beam, makes our tubes the best choice for virtually any application.”

DART Helicopter Services LLC is a privately held Sales & Marketing company whose primary focus is creating sales networks for aerospace manufacturers who are looking to benefit from DART’s global marketing network and sales channel.
