Domhnal Slattery has stepped down as chairman of the board for eVTOL developer Vertical Aerospace.
Slattery announced his resignation on social media May 12, saying saying he leaves the company in a position of strength following the first piloted transition flight of its Valo aircraft.
“Watching that transition a few weeks ago was one of the proudest moments of my career,” Slattery said.
“A genuine inflection point and confirmation of everything I have believed about this company and the future of advanced air mobility.”
Benjamin Story will step in as interim chair while the company seeks a permanent replacement.
“His experience at Rolls-Royce, Transport for London and Citigroup brings exactly the right combination of strategic, financial and transport sector experience,” said Slattery.
“I have no doubt the company will thrive under his guidance while a permanent chair is appointed.”
In a separate post, Vertical Aerospace thanked Slattery for his leadership and commitment during a key growth period.
“Your role in guiding the company on delivering key milestones has helped put us in a strong position for the next phase,” the company said.
“We’re grateful for your continued support and look forward to building on this momentum as we take Valo through certification and bring it to market.”
