Airbus Helicopters took orders for 544 aircraft in 2025, representing a 51% share of the civil and parapublic market and 28% share of the military market, the manufacturer said.
Bruno Even, Airbus Helicopters’ CEO, said the overall order growth of about 20 percent “demonstrates that our modern civil and military portfolios are delivering the precise mission capabilities required in today’s complex environment.”
Military orders over the year, driven by enhanced defence demand across Europe, included a landmark contract for 100 helicopters from Spain (including 50 H145Ms, 31 NH90s and the first orders for the H175M), and Germany exercising an option for another 20 H145Ms.
The 149 orders for the H145 across the military and civil variants made it the best-selling type in the Airbus line.
The H160M Guepard completed its maiden flight in July, and has demonstrated “outstanding” maturity during flight testing, according to the type’s head of program. The type is being developed for the French armed forces as part of the country’s Joint Light Helicopter Program, with an initial order for 30 aircraft. This requirement could rise to up to 169 H160Ms.
In the heavy segment, Morocco signed a contract for 10 H225Ms, while the first two of an order of 12 H225Ms were delivered to Iraq in April.
“Our focus on defence and security has never been sharper,” said Even, who also highlighted the company’s efforts in uncrewed aerial systems (UAS) — an area in which Airbus sees strong market momentum.
Last year it signed its first UAS contracts with Drone Forge and the European Maritime Safety Agency for Flexrotor, and the French Ministry of Armed Forces ordered six VSR700s.
“We are leading the shift toward UAS by integrating Survey Copter into our core operations, establishing a comprehensive range of tactical drones,” said Even. “By combining drones with our advanced and unique HTeaming capabilities, we provide a seamless, networked ecosystem for the modern battlespace.”
On the civil and parapublic side of the business, Even claimed the H160 secured about 50 percent of the medium twin segment, while the H175’s 15 orders have helped to strengthen its position in the super medium category.
Earlier in the year, Airbus unveiled its new light twin, the H140, which has already secured 61 orders.
Across 2025, Airbus Helicopters delivered 392 aircraft to civil/parapublic and military customers.
