After a two-year hiatus, the 2022 Elevate Summit will return this year in Brooklyn, New York, from Oct. 12 to 13.

The event had been previously hosted by Uber, but since Joby Aviation acquired Uber Elevate in 2020, the eVTOL developer will be taking over as the host. The summit will take place at the Duggal Greenhouse in the Brooklyn Navy Yard, with more information available later this summer.
“We launched the Elevate Summit five years ago to provide an open forum for this new industry to come together and embrace a shared vision of the future,” said Eric Allison, head of product at Joby and former head of Elevate at Uber. “We’re at a key moment in the evolution of our industry … and interest in the promise of this technology has never been higher. It’s the perfect time to come together.”
Previous events saw more than 1,000 attendees and a range of speakers, including the U.S. Secretary of Transportation, senior leaders from the Federal Aviation Administration and NASA, U.S. Senators, and CEOs of Fortune 100 companies.
Joby is developing a five-seat eVTOL aircraft with a targeted range of up to 150 miles (241 kilometers) on a single charge, and speeds of up to 200 mph (321 km/h). JoeBen Bevirt, founder and CEO of Joby, shared his confidence that the eVTOL developer would meet its timeline to launch passenger services in 2024 during a segment of CBS’ 60 Minutes on April 17.
