NHV Group has begun operations with an Airbus H160 in the North Sea, marking the medium type’s official entry into the European offshore energy market.
The offshore operator has leased two H160s from GD Helicopter Finance, with the aircraft used to support oil and gas and offshore wind crew change operations in Northern Europe.
The aircraft are expected to operate primarily from NHV’s base in Den Helder, the Netherlands.

The H160 began offshore operations with PHI as part of a “route proving program” in the Gulf of Mexico in 2024, and began commercial operations there the following year.
It has subsequently flown offshore in South America (Brazil) and Africa (Nigeria).

GDHF is one of the newer leasing companies in the market, having been launched in 2024 with a large order book of 50 H160s.
