Director of Maintenance Organization

Summary
The Director of Maintenance Organization (DOMO) is responsible for the Maintenance Procedure Manual, AME scheduling, expenses, training, compensation and recruitment, hiring, discipline, performance and terminations. The DOMO will work alongside the Director of Maintenance Control and Compliance (DOCC) (Person Responsible for the Maintenance Control System) to plan scheduled aircraft maintenance, address aircraft defect rectification, and manage AOG situations.
Job Duties
- Organizing and directing the operation of the maintenance department
- Providing the company with direction and policy with respect to aircraft the required equipment
- Approving and controlling all operational expenses relating to the maintenance of aircraft
- Being in contact with the regulatory agencies concerning new equipment, subcontracting and other related matters
- Providing weekly reports concerning the technical aspects of the maintenance department
- Ensuring that sufficient materials, special tools, and equipment have been made available to accomplish the maintenance function, and timely rectification of defects in regard to minimum equipment provisions and precision tools are calibrated as required
- Ensuring that each person charged with the responsibility of aircraft or aeronautical product certification holds an appropriate and valid license and has been issued certifying authority by the Quality Assurance Manager
- Oversee the scheduling of maintenance, elementary work, servicing, and airworthiness directives within the time constraints of the maintenance schedule or as indicated on the airworthiness directive
- Overseeing other maintenance organizations used to ensure proper procedure is used and aligns with Transport Canada which includes compliance with requirements, employing the necessary personnel to plan, perform, supervise, inspect, and release the work performed
- Perform aircraft maintenance duties
- Ensure safety, security, quality and risk management policies and related applications are adequately implemented, monitored and that the airline operates within a safe environment at all times
- Proactively promotes safety and quality within the organization and sets example for safety as a leader
- Act as a leader and role model for employees in areas of safety, work quality, professionalism
- Uphold company policies and procedures professionally at all times
- Other duties as required.
Requirements
- A well rounded knowledge of the Canadian Commercial Helicopter industry and CARs.
- Extensive operational Aircraft Maintenance Engineer experience.
- Managerial experience.
- Must have completed a Transport Canada approved program in Aviation Maintenance or have received equivalent training recognized by Transport Canada.
- Shall have accepted the appointment to the role of Person Responsible for Maintenance for the AMO and the AOC, within four (4) months of the hire date.
- Able to work with little or no supervision.
