The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is seeking a highly experienced full-time Director of Operations for air ambulance operations that includes inter-facilities, off airport landings, overwater operations andcomplying with Sheriff’s Office General Order, GOM, and 14 CFR 135, 61, 91 FARs.The candidate shall complete an interview, flight check, background investigation, Sheriff’s Office Drug screening and DOT Drug screening, psychological exam and polygraph. FAA and previous employersPRIA records reviews will be conducted. The successful candidate will serve as the HAA FAR135 certificate Director of Operations.This is a non-sworn position. No law enforcement experience is required.Director of Operations #8211; Duties and Responsibilities:Complying with Sheriff’s Office General Order, GOM, and all applicable FAR requirements.Reports directly to the Chief of Staff.Exercises Operational Control for part 135 flight operations.Direct supervisor of the Chief Pilot.Fly as a line-pilot in HAA operations when operationally needed.Responsible for the initiation and completion of pilot training, instructors and check airmen.Formulates operational policies.Ensures along with the DOM that all aircraft are properly equipped maintained for applicable HAA VFR/IFR operations.Director of Operations must be qualified and maintain proficiency as Pilot-in-Command in the S76C+. Training provided by MCSO and Flight Safety International.Ensures that all flight crew personnel are qualified and supervised according to therequirements specified in the Federal Aviation Regulations Sheriffs General Orders.Responsible for ensuring all pilots read comply with operations notices and operations memos.Ensures aircraft are operated according to the manufacturers FAA policies and procedures in a safe and efficient manner.Conducts all flights in a manner that safe completion is never in doubt.Ensures aircraft are ready to be dispatched, 365 days a year.Conducts best practices in a professional manner at all times.
