Air Operations Automation Coordinator, Wildland Fire Program Coordinator 1Recruitment #2022-10-7891This is a Full-time, Permanent, Represented position.Location: Your office will be located in Olympia.Want to join something GREAT and make a difference?The Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is looking for an Air Operations Automation Coordinator to join the DNR Air Operations Team for the State of Washingtonrsquo;s largest firefighting department. This position will support aircraft, aircrews, pilots, mechanics, and Air Operations staff with automation needs in support of Wildland Fire Operations.

Serves as the primary program coordinator for Helicopter, Fixed Wing, and UAS Operations for Automation and Digital Maintenance Support;
Serves as the primary Air Operations Automation Logistics Coordinator and liaison to WD/ITD for all Aviation Sections: Helicopter Pilots, Maintenance, Fixed Wing, UAS, and HELITACK at the direction of the Aviation Program Manager for automated logistical operations;
Assess maintenance software for operational efficiencies, makes recommendations for operational policy and procedure changes and the need for additional resources and adjustments to software to meet the Air Operations Maintenance Section automation needs;
Gathers, processes, and organizing Air Operations maintenance and aircraft wildland fire information, reports and data for the Program Manager and upper management;
Provides Helicopter Operations, Aviation maintenance and TRAXALLreg; reports and data for billing, statistics, and trend data to the Air Operations Support Coordinator and Program Manager;
Implement, manage, train and oversee the implementation of the TRAXALL reg; Aviation Management Software System;
Conducts Wildfire Aviation Intelligence Gathering and Database management for the Aviation Program Manager and ADM for Operations and Aviation daily during the season;
Using ARC GIS, AFF, EGP, lnterra, Avenza, Garmin Pilot, etc.
Prepares Aviation Operations Reports for management to include but not limited to SCOA Rollups, AIR Reports, and TRAXALL aircraft usage reports;
Work with facilities, contracts personnel and engineering section for base automation requirements, contracts, and work;
Coordinates with FEPP Manager on Aviation inventory updates, tracking and needs for integration into the TRAXALLreg; system;
Attend remote and in-person meetings as required by program manager;
Prepares annual report for aircraft tracking, pilot hours, and FEPP equipment use report;
Provides Aviation Wildfire digital air operations intelligence information to program manager and upper management for daily fire operations;
Provides automation support, updates, installation, training and field support statewide to all Aviation personnel on:
IPADs, IPHONEs, Applications (i.e. Garmin Pilot, TRAXALLreg;, Avenzareg;, lnterriareg;, and other assigned Aviation programs and applications);
Interfaces with aviation app and software vendors on bugs, errors, and improvements to Aviation software systems;
Coordinate, setup and maintain 9+ statewide seasonal Air Operations bases for automation integration.
