About MHM Publishing

Named by co-founders Mike and Linda Reyno in honor of their three children — Mitchell, Hanna and Madison — MHM Publishing is dedicated to creating superior content for the North American civil helicopter industry.

MHM Publishing is based in Kitchener, Ontario. Its premier publication is Vertical Magazine, which provides peerless coverage of civil helicopter operations in the United States in Canada. Founded in 2002, Vertical draws on a broad pool of industry talent, and has grown to become the most respected publication in its field. Helicopter Association International honored Mike and Linda for their achievements with the 2006 Excellence in Communications Award.

Mike and Linda created Vertical because they saw a need for a top-quality publication dedicated to the North American civil helicopter industry. In 2007, responding to another perceived need, they launched Vertical 911, devoted to covering the parapublic helicopter sector. Due to the industry’s overwhelmingly positive response to the magazine, Vertical 911 is now published four times per year. Together with six issues of Vertical, MHM Publishing now distributes 10 glossy, full-color magazines a year across North America.

Additionally, Vertical is now available on newsstands in the U.S. and Canada — the first helicopter magazine to be widely available to a general audience.

Besides its flagship magazines, MHM Publishing produces a diverse range of products suited to the information and marketing needs of the helicopter industry. Additional products include a Canadian Helicopter Operators Directory, a North American Flight Training Directory, and a variety of custom publishing products including calendars, posters, newsletters, advertising inserts and more. Awards and Recognition

HAI is the professional trade association for the international helicopter industry, with more than 2,800 members in 74 countries. The organization honored the Reynos for their work on Vertical Magazine, which has grown from a small, start-up publication to the most widely read and respected magazine in the industry.

“From the outset, we’ve taken a different approach to the trade: we invested heavily in putting out a high quality product, sending helicopter professionals all over Canada and the United States to report from the front lines of the industry,” Mike said in an HAI press release.

Linda added: “The HAI Excellence in Communications Award is not just a tribute to the core staff at Vertical, but to everyone who has been associated with the magazine. We couldn’t have done it without the freelance contributors who have given up family time to help meet deadlines, or the advertisers who’ve supported us along the way.”
